Old photography - in high resolution

Since we have a lot of photography enthusiasts on board, I'd like to share this site that has kept me busy for hours and hours:

    http://www.shorpy.com/

It contains loads and loads of nice pictures, dating from your youth all the way back to the American civil war. Often funny, sometimes touching and mostly amazing.

After all that megapixel boredom that photo discussions are full of nowadays, be sure to click on "full size" and and admire what a glass plate negative could do a hundred years ago!

Thanks Tornedos!  I'm working on a commercial project right now that requires creating fictitious historical photographs.  I was desperately in need of good reference material.

    Amazing stuff!
