I can't think of a favourite CD, but on the DVD front, I love playing the scene from "Sky captain and the world of tomorrow" where the giant robots are walking between the builings in the city. The sound is insane and all of my apartment is shaking, (and probably the neighbours apartment under mine :o) ), also the Pod Race from "Star Wars I". Musicwise the DVD "Jarre in China" by Jean Michel Jarre is incredible and takes full use of all channels in a surround setup and the picture is extremely clear.

I also use the 5th element to show off, as previously mentioned the Diva scene is superb. Minority report as well, In minority report theres a scene where Colin Farrell and Tom Cruise are fighting in a factory, when they fire the stun guns our mantle piece shakes Big Smile

If you really want to show off the visuals then put on Finding Nemo, The colours are sublime, well they are on an Avant anyway Smile

I see tha many have mentioned The Eagles and "Hell Feezes Over"

The CD track Hotel California with Beloab 5's made the hairs on the back of my kneck stand on end which meant I had to buy them!!!

After that the Active Listeneing from B&O - track 12 is awsome.

A favourite DVD is the car chase near the end in Gone in 60 Seconds if you have a surround setup.

Definitely Batman Begins. Fantastic film with  great sound effects throughout, from the opening scene right  to the end.  Best sequences are any involving  "the tumbler" !!

    Hi

Just asking, what DVD/CD player are you using - what I mean is, it is not only the music but also the player and speakers there make it to the top.

    Nrhalne.

I'm using the built in DVD player in my Avant, which unfortunatly is a bit to noisy, and the disc can be heard spinning during lowvolumed passages of movies. :o(

Love the reference to Dave Holland Big Band. I have this album and have never listened to it. I have some other dave holland big band albums and they are really kinda tense to listen to. I'll give Overtime a listen... Cheers
