I think that it has a DTV button instead of SAT.

However there is a way to check it by looking at the software version using the menu. dont know how tho.

The most recent software is 5.00 and the most recent operation data is EE6.22. To find out which it has, press LIST and STAND BY at the same time and then MENU and GO at the same time. Then use LIST to scroll through the options. The very latest has an option for DTV2 in the LIST. Externally there will be V.MEM and A.MEM buttons and the DTV button. You can find the serial number in the same menu as the software type - it gives you two four figure numbers. (That only seems to work with newer Beo4s - my older ones give a string of 0s!)

That is almost the same as my newest one. I think it is EE6.10. No idea what the A,B,C and D are for. Smile

    Re: Beo4

Apparently, there are currently really four (4) EE versions of 6.19 to 6.22 i.e. your A,B,C & D as defined below

The following changes were made in the most recent update:-

    • DTV2 added
    • P-DTV2 added
    • L-DTV2 added
    • A-DTV2 added
    • REC LOCK removed
    • REC UNLOCK removed

To update a Beo4 remote control produced before September, 2007, then the kit will contain a new keypad (with V.MEM, A.MEM and DTV)
along with the PCB with EE version 6.22

To update a Beo4 remote control after September, 2007, the kit is just the PCB with EE version 6.22,

These EE eprom versions still work and are compatible with software version is 5.00.

There are 4 different EE versions, as the EE version determines what is put in the LIST button from the factory.

    EE versions are:
    Video1/Audio1: 6.19
    Video2/Audio1: 6.20
    Video3/Audio2: 6.21
    Video4/Audio1: 6.22

The possible configurations which were implemented some years ago, I think around 2002 were Video 1, 2 or 3 and Audio 1 and 2 and the following were what was implemented

Video1: Avant chassis and MX 4/6/7000
    Video2: BV/BC 1 MX 8000
    Video3: USA
    Audio1: Basic
    Audio2: BS9000

    Regards Keith....

Not sure about that. There are indeed four types but the ABCD seems to be some sort of counter. One of my older Beo4s gives the following reading:

    A:OFF3H

    B:0487H

    C:OOE4H

    D: 0084H

    CONT:04

    Thoughts?

    Re: Beo4

    A B C D are counters I can't remember what B C D are, but A counts 1 up when you push a button ( in HEX) in Peters case A =0FF3H = 65328 times Wink

    Peter :

    A:OFF3H

Soren is almost correct (but only almost Stick out tongue).

It's 100 times the event of any keypress and it's in hex. So 0FF3 equals 4083, times 100 is some 408300 times a keypress (must be a heavy Zapper Wink)

    B:0487H: 100 times pressing the "up"-key: 115900 times

C:OOE4H: 100 times pressing Vol+: 22800 times (at least your ears are still fine Stick out tongue)

D: 0084H: 100 times pressing "LIST": 13200 times (so you seem to know what you want)Wink)

    "Cont" was already mentioned.

That's what the service manual says. Not clear if the multiplicator is in hex or dez, so it could even be more (times 256 instead of 100) ending in "A" being 1045248 keypresses Unsure

Pattrn isn't mentioned but it's a short LCD test of adjacent or missing pixels.

    Best,

        Gunther

That's easy to test - press a button a hundred times and see if the number increments or not. I don't think I care enough to do that myself, though! Laughing

    Wow! Fascinating stuff Gunther, thanksSmile
As Pattrn has a ? behind it, I pressed go and it gives a whole line of HHHHHHHHHs or IIIIIIIIIIs or ########s.
I guess this shows every pixel

An article on this subject would be handy.

    Poor me, never win owt!

Waited for someone to do this but took me too long: Now I know, but I won't tell you (as you don't care) Stick out tongue:

(For all others: it counts 100 times in dez)

Is there a setting to increase the brightness on the Beo4 Cinema version , my one is quite dark compared to other devices with back lit displays . Have to change the batteries regularly as even a small voltage drop dims the display .
