    Thinking of changing BS3000 for a BC9500

I have a BS3000 (Large Clamper) and am now thinking I prefer to design of the BS9500, plus it seems to have more inputs on it - the other peices of equipment I have are a TX  turntable and a Revox B77 tape recorder - I also have two Avants and a link system installed. Am I right in thinking that the BC9500 will allow direct connection of the record deck (without a pre-amp) and the Revox and can I use the AUX to join it onto Masterlink through a converter (I have one of those somewhere).

My speakers are connected to the Avant so the sound would go through the COnverter to the Avant - does this degrade the sound. I seem to remember that when I first has a 9300 and MX7000 the sound was noticably inferior when the speakers were connected to the TV.

If anyone has this setup and can comment it would be much appreciated - the aim is for teh record deck and tape recorder to be directly connected to the BC without the need for switch boxes and external pre-amp.

Also, would a 9300 be better?, I'm only thinking that as it's newer but I don't think has the phono stages. - Or perhaps visually the BC8500 would match the TX and Revox better?

Advice given to me by my local B&O service center was to get the BC9300. The reason for this is that you can still get parts to repair it. The CD mechanism is not available (apparantly), so once it's broken it can't be fixed. The 9300 uses the same Cd mechanism as the overture, BS3000, BS3200, etc. so is easily replaced. I think I recall that the same CD mechanism can be retrofitted to the 9500, but I would confirm that first before you buy a 9500.

The added benefit of getting one of these BeoCenters is that you can buy a Beolink 7000 remote and enjoy the 2-way communication!! Cool

The 9300 is not 2 way - the 9500 is. The CD unit in the 9500 is pretty robust - clearly the are getting old but most faults are due to capacitor failure and not actually the laser anyway.

The 9300 needs a pre-amp to connect a record player without RIAA....

My Beogram 9500 is connected to a pre-amp which is connected to the BC9300. I got the BC9300 because of the spare part story.
