Connecting Beolab 1's to Beosound 9000 as LINE

    Hello All-

Having some difficulty making this connection work correctly as LINE fron one speaker to the next. Is there a special way these need to be connected to the 9000 (using a specific speaker socket) and the Beolab 1's? I've seemingly tried every combination, to no avail. Any help much appreciated !!

    Thanks,

    Sean

    Hi Sean,

Assuming that you have a pair of the 8-pin PowerLink cables, and are attaching to the 8-pin PL socket(s) on your 9000 you should have all you need in hand.  However, you should not be using the LINE input setting on the BeoLab 1's.  Set the switches (as appropriate) for Left and Right, and you ought to be in business.

I was attempting the LINE option due to cable length and the current speaker placement. I thought the LINE function allows me to connect one Beolab1 to the other, and then just have one connection from a single speaker to my 9000? I have a long length of Powerlink cabling (20m) going to that one speaker and then I'm using the shorter run from one of the speakers to the other.

I noticed there's a Mark 2 and 3 powerlink cable option - could that be part of the issue i may be running into?

Shouldn't be, no.  In any situation which is essentially pure B&O, use the Left and Right settings.  Line recognizes only the RCA input, which is not what you want here.

As to MK2 vs. MK3, the BeoLab should not care.

If you are concerned about running another 20m cable then just get a power link cable splitter and then another powerlink cable that is long enough to reach the second speaker from the first. Make sure that each speaker's left/right settings are correct and you should be fine.
