    Beo Master 7000

Hi to eveyone I'm new to this and am looking for a little help.

Can anyone tell me how to unleash the power of this system as I have to have the volume in the 20's to hear it.

I'm pretty good with a soldering iron if anyone has any info that I can follow. Thankyou

What source are you using? Is it the same with headphones? What speakers are you using? The service manual is on site - but is the 6500 one which is the same except for the RDS board. - you can find it here.

    Re: Beo Master 7000

I have the beo Master 5500 system and I bought the beo master 7000 recently

I have 2 pairs of penta 2 ,a pair of cx100 a cona sub and sony 500watt  sub.

I have read about a modification of removing four capacitors but I have looked for them and can't find them, do you know anything about this mod. My 5500 works brilliant the 7000 seems to lag behind that I feel like throwing it out.

    Thankyou

I would not worry about the capacitors - the difference is relatively minor - your problem sounds more serious. If the problem is when you play the Beogram, and the sound is faint and tinny, it is because the Beogram 5500 needs an RIAA which the BM5500 has but the 7000 does not. If it is all sources, you have a problem !

I also bought the riaa amp. It is not the quality of the sound thats the problem. the 5500 I have set at 10 and the 7000 volume I have to set at 22 to get the same volume both go up to 78

Have you tried moving the speakers to the no. 2 connectors? If the volume is OK then, you have the classic muting relay fault (which needs to be fixed with a new relay, or you can just ignore it, use speakers 2 and live without the muting function).

Actually when I change the mute relay on my BM 3500,  the sound was much clearer and louder, it made a huge difference. I had to turn down the treble and bass. They relay gets dirty and does not allow the signal to pass through properly.

    That is my experience anyway.

    Hi Henry,

I own an BM5500 and BM7000. I have the same experience!

With BM7000 my girl mostly uses volume 50 and higher when she is playing loud and dancing on the music. (party)

With BM5500 we use lower digits volume for the same result!

To ALL who have a BM6500/7000: At what volume level are you listening music normal level and at party level?

    Regards, Robert

This will of course depend heavily on the speakers and the environment - including the neighbours. On my 6500 and Beovox Pentas, I can't go much over 30 late in the evening... 34-40 is plenty good for daytime radio, CD and phono may take more.

    Hi Henry

Are you sure they both  go up to 78?  normally A 5500 only goes up to 60.

    Re: Beo Master 7000

My 7000 goes higher than my 5500. I usually have to set my 7000 around 10 higher than my 5500 to get the same volume and I'm sure this is how they were designed. When both are maxed out the output is pretty comparable.

    Hi Every One

I have now tested it and it has improved the sound by giving it more depth

it does not alter the volume level but the sound has  improved  ten fold.

    Hi Peter

Sorry I can not take a photo as it's now back in use.

They are square and white, you will find them under the plastic cover where the fan is.

Undo the top board and lift it back and you will see the plastic covering, gently lift the two

battery like things and remove the one screw from the plastic cover and if you have the back facing you

in the left hand corner there's a clip what locks it to the board gently move over and lift it, then on the right on the front side

of the cover there another clip do the same to that and then you can lift the cover out of the way.

I then removed them from the top of the board by rocking them back and forth until they broke off.  the numbers again

are C 215 C216 C415 and C416 they are easys to find just look  for the numbers and as I said the sound is so much better.

Over the weekend I'm going to do the same with my 5500

If you are unsure I'll take it apart again and take a photo but it's really not difficult.

It's like having a new system.

    Regards Henry

    Re: Beo Master 7000

I think the reason is explained on Beocentral Andy (I'm too knackered to find out for myself - busy week and all that).

Either way the Beomaster 7000 is to all intents & purposes an upgraded 5500.
