Hi all - i've had my Beo5 for about a month now and thought i'd post my initial thoughts as some tend to become dissillusioned with it quite quickly. I was fortunate enough to have the support and programming skills of the one and only Mr Keith Saunders to get my remote exactly to my tastes and working to my setup which included 2 non B&O devices. The result is now a fantastically well programmed and easy to use remote which I am very pleased to have purchased. There are of course a few small issues but due to the complexity of my setup they couldn't be avoided but again thanks to Keith they were minimised and i can happily live with them. I have not yet gone back to my Beo4 which sits redundant on the shelf. I can understand why some could see the Beo5 as more hassle then the Beo4 but i would probably say that was due to the B&O shop programming it very basically for the user and not taking the time to have it done to the customers wishes and specs, and of course they simply wouldn't bother with non b&o kit either. My only slight grumble is that it is gathering dust under the touch screen which is annoying but apart from that i'm enjoying the remote. Is it worth the money - as i got mine in great condition second hand from Lifestyle AV (cheers Lee and Matt - superb service as always) it was worth it - i wouldn't pay £500 for a new one though!!
The upshot of it all is a great little remote which thank to Keith works fantastically well with my STB and my Sony DVD recorder. Keep the faith in the Beo5 - when you've got it working well you'll not go back to the Beo4. Keith - many thanks once again.
