    Jet 511 Table radio restoration

I recently got a Museum piece in my shop here.

It's a JET 511 table radio monster. Beautiful condition except no operation.

The good thing was that the schematic was posted to the underside shield panel below the main chassis.

I've also crossed all the euro-tubes to USA equivalents (just in case)

One tube has shown bad and a couple others test low. The main reason for not turning on was the 2 panel/pilot lamps in front .

These are connected in series with the heater circuits for the tubes. Bad lamps=no heaters. Lamps are Philips 8005D , 18 volt 100mA

The other probelm was a burnt resistor for one of the high-volt lines on one of the tubes.

I'll update as I go along and make up a photo-blog soon.

    Cheers from a newbie,

    Scott

    Hear, hear.
    Welcome from me too, ScottSmile
Looking forward to the photo's.  Common practice for B&O is to include the schematics in a brown envelope inside.
Although I can't make much sense of them, it's always great to open the envelope thinking that it hasn't seen the light of day for donkey's ears!
    Good luck with your project!

I agree, definitely one to watch.
The vintage products are very rarely brought up here, so this is
    clearly a welcome change. Laughing

Looking forward to seeing this project, the more pictures the better IMO.

    Welcome to BeoWorld!

I heartily agree with everyone else - these vintage equipment restorations are absolutely fascinating.

Nothing so rare or difficult at the moment on my bench (ok, kitchen worktop..) Just 3-into-2 Beocenter 7700 shenanigans:

The plan is to make up the best one to keep, second best to sell, and third to sell as "saveable".  Well, it stops me getting bored. :)
