Dead Avant tube, long live the speakers ?

    Hi,

I was wondering if I still could use the speakers (and maybe some electronic parts) from an old Avant with a defective tube and use the speakers as a stand-alone solution (like i.e. beolab 4000).
    Anyone any experience with this?

    Kurt.

    Hi,

yes, it works. The Avant has 2 seperate amplifiers, using a powerlink interface... or at least compatible with powerlink. You need only a 60 Watt power supply.

The plastic box with the loudspeakers sounds nice, but looks awfull. The speakers are compatible with Beolab 2500.

If you build a box in a wall, behind the sofa or under the desk, they sound great. But they should be installed invisible.
