HELP PLEASE- Beoport and MAC issues
Hi All
I've posted a similar issue previously.. the issue continues to plague me.
I've recently had my beoport repaired as it stopped working altogether. B&O couldnt tell me what was done with it, but after 5 five weeks it came back to me repaired. It was suggested they basically gave it a new inside...
Im using a beoport connected to a mac and beocentre 2.
N.MUSIC works just fine....
N.RADIO however is driving me crazy... It works fine for a period and i can change stations using the remote. However, if one station is left to play for say more than 20 minutes or so the link between the beoport, the remote and computer appears to be broken, i.e it keeps playing (so the internet hasnt dropped out) I can't however change the station. The BM link icon then has the coloured spinning wheel appear above it, indicating it is stuck. I then have to reboot the computer, switch off beocentre 2 and start again......
I'm using a mac mini (was previously using an imac in another room) and itunes. I've reinstalled the BM Link software several times...
I've sent a number of emails to Anders Odlund, but he hasn't replied to my last couple of emails of a some months back.. I guess he's busy.
I've had one or two suggestions re changing some settings so my computer doesn't sleep..but nothing seems to fix the problem
Any suggestions- this is ruining what is really a nice product..

Re: HELP PLEASE- Beoport and MAC issues
It does sound like the USB shuts down due to no activity to save power. Can you try if it happens too if you change the station lets say every 10 or 15minutes?
I think for N.Music this doesnt happen as with every song the display gets new information so the USB has activity.

Re: HELP PLEASE- Beoport and MAC issues
If that is the case you could try to use a USB hub and connect another device to keep it active if you have one lying around. When you click on the Apple Logo in the Menu and choose about this mac - more info ... does the beoport show up?

Re: HELP PLEASE- Beoport and MAC issues
Hello
Many thanks for the response.
I'll check as you've suggested and get back to you- the usb connections are between the mac mini and the beoport itself..
If Beoport doesnt show up where youve suggested, what is the solution and why is this significant?
Sorry for the silly question
Regards
David

Re: HELP PLEASE- Beoport and MAC issues
If beoport does not show up I am thinking the mac does not recognize it as a connected device and goes into powersaving on the usb after a few minutes as there is no activity.
In that case I think it might be worth trying to connect a hub and a dummy device just to keep the usb active ......
