    BM5 with an Avant?

I see in the thread ‘At Last’ you can purchase a MB5 on its own.  I’ve yet to ask my local dearer in Australia…..

But does any one know if it will work with an Avant DVD in the same way as it does for the current range of beovisions?  And would the Avant need any upgrades.

(I also have Beoports and BS3000 in my setup)

    BV10, AvantDVD, BS3000, BL8000, BL6000, BL4000, BL3500, BeoPorts, BC9300, BC7002, CX100s, C75s, Beo4s, BC6000s, LC2s, A9, A8s,

Currently no, but that will change by late summer/early fall. Basically the new BeoVisions control the BeoMaster 5 via MasterLink and the older televisions can't. The BeoMaster 5 will have to be controlled with its own IR eye but that is not currently supported in the software.

This has been discussed internally as part of the roll-out. I'm really not sure why it's so far in the future, but it is definitely planned.

    Thanks TripEnglish.

To confirm; there is an IR port on the BM5 but it isn’t currently supported and that is how you will be able to control it with an older Beovision (e.g. Avant) when this port is supported/enabled.
