Re: Can I activate the Aux1 socket on an LX2800 with a Beolink 1000?
I think "Shift" + "TV" should achieve what you are after.

Brian is right: "AUX" on Video Terminal = "SHIFT" + "TV" on BeoLink 1000

Re: Can I activate the Aux1 socket on an LX2800 with a Beolink 1000?
Hi Jimmy!
Acually, you need also to choose between aux 1, 2 or 3 to activate the right socket.
You press "shift" + "TV" + 1.
Great sound on your television! It's amazing from an over 20 year old product. I have one too, that I've got for free some weeks ago. Marvellous sound...

Re: Can I activate the Aux1 socket on an LX2800 with a Beolink 1000?
Many thanks guys. I can't make it work though. According to the manual, to activate the aux 1 without a TV picture (which is what I want to do ideally) I just switch on the TV with the Aux button (i.e. SHIFT + TV). When I try that all that happens is the TV comes on as normal. Any advice? Ben
p.s. Thanks Lloydern. It looks like the SHIFT button on my remote isn't producing an IR signal, so that would explain why nothing is working. So I'm a bit scuppered for the time being. I don't know how to fix the remote!

Re: Can I activate the Aux1 socket on an LX2800 with a Beolink 1000?
Hi again!
When you press "shift" + "TV" you are supposed to see a little red text on the screen saying "AUX", and then you press the aux number.
If this doesn't happen with your remote, maybe there's something wrong like you suggested. That's too bad!
But don't you have a Beo 4? You can just add "shift" to the "list"-function and take it from there I recon...

If you have a Beo4, you can just add "V.AUX" to the "LIST"-function.
"V.AUX" on Beo4 works as "AUX" on Video Terminal.

...of course..."V.AUX" on Beo4 is the best solution....

Re: Can I activate the Aux1 socket on an LX2800 with a Beolink 1000?
Hi again guys. No Beo4, unfortunately. Just the Beolink 1000. So the SHIFT +TV would be the answer here... except the shift button seems to be kaput (I presume it should emit an IR signal when pressed, like all the other buttons. Mine doesn't, for some reason). So that seems to be the problem. Looks like I need a new remote... Thanks again for your help so far though - much appreciated.

Re: Can I activate the Aux1 socket on an LX2800 with a Beolink 1000?
No, I don't think [SHIFT] shall emit a signal. It will use the second used button to emit a special wanted signal.
For example. [TV] emits a command to activate TV, but [SHIFT] [TV] shall not send the command TV but [AUX].
Other example [SHIFT] [LINK] on my Beolink 1000 sends the command [LIGHT] that a newer remote can emit with one press. But it's still only one signal emitted.

Hi. I Kind of suspected as much, so I persevered and lo and behold I've sorted it. It's two presses on SHIFT + TV. Works perfectly. Fantastic. Thank you all for your help. Ben

Re: Can I activate the Aux1 socket on an LX2800 with a Beolink 1000?
Hi Ben,
Glad you've got it sorted! I've been trying to track down an LX2800 to test this out and find the answer, but you've beaten me to it! I have added a note to the product page for this cable, giving the remote commands for Beo4, Beolink 1000 and Beolink Video, including the combination for Beolink 1000 when used with an older TV such as the LX2800.
Hopefully, this will help any future users wanting to connect an iPod to their Beovision TV.
Best regards,
Steve.

Re: Can I activate the Aux1 socket on an LX2800 with a Beolink 1000?
I am glad I read this thread because I was wondering earlier in the week if there was any way to play audio through the LX2800 in my bedroom, and this thread appeared.
I have just ordered one of Steve's cables!

Hi Simon,
Your cable went out this morning First Class, so it should be with you very soon. I will be interested to hear your comments on this when you've got it connected up!
Many thanks
Steve.

Re: Can I activate the Aux1 socket on an LX2800 with a Beolink 1000?
Thanks Steve
The cable arrived yesterday and everyhting is up and running, for the time being into my LS5500 using external speakers.
It sounds a lot better plugged into the back of my iPod dock than it does plugged directlty into the iPod, sio that is how I am using it. It means I have a listenable music system in a room that otherwise wouldn't have one.
