Very happy with the Beovision 8 32"

Must say that I was a bit uncertain on how I would enjoy the BV8 as a "casual TV" after swapping out my Beovison 1.

The opinions in the forum has not really been all positive about the BV8.

But I must say that the experience really have grown over time (two weeks now since I had it delivered and installed).

Excellent picture with HD signal. Really okay with SD signal over cable box. Awesome sound. Better sound than the BV1 as I see it. You can really feel the bass if you crank it up a little.

The design is really really nice, and fits the style in my living room.

Well, I just wanted to let this out Smile

    /C

(Have made the cabling to the BS3000 shorter after I shot the below picture)

    Looks nice!

But why have the speakers so high up? Can't be good for sound imaging.

Big Smile  Well, it´s mainly to please the missus...  But it works fine anyway. Tilted downwards. I don´t use it for TV sound.

And my main listening position for Music is right in the sweetspot.

Re: Very happy with the Beovision 8 32"

Well, I am very happy you have shared your BV8-32 experience with us, because I am also considering a BV8 for our living room. And yes, I am also a bit disappointed about the BV8 reactions in the forum, specially regarding the 32 inch model. The new BV8-40 inch has better specs, but would be a bit too dominant in our room I think. Besides we will also use it as a casual TV.

May I ask you what is your normal viewing distance? In our situation it will be 3.5 meter maximum.

Re: Very happy with the Beovision 8 32"

I also am very happy with my BV8-32! Will take a photo of the setup later and post it. Had contemplated waiting for the 40", but I have the feeling it would dominate the furniture. The size of the 32" is almost perfect. You will see in the picture what I mean lol!

Picture quality is fine with Sky for normal viewing, and with PS3 is great for high def gaming and Blurays! Teletom, my viewing distance is close to 3.5 metres maximum and I find the picture fine as I said.

    Robert.

The low wooden bench may be able to accommodate a BL2 or the new sub in the future perhaps...

Great TV, fantastic look in your room.

Looks really great Robert, both the setup and the styling! Design and setup-wise the combination BV8-32 and BS 9000 looks perfect. Well done indeed. I understand what you mean with: "I have the feeling it would dominate the furniture".

    Robert...

What a perfect minimilist setup you have created Robert. I absolutly love it. Wonderful use of the space and the way you have used the wood on the left side, behind the 9000 and the botoom of the unit is superb. One of the nicest set ups I have ever seen. What is the size of that particular room?

    Hiote...

Again, a very nice setup you have created for yourself. I like the 3s up there from a design persepctive; as for round imaging I can't comment as its not an area I know too much about. The BV8 is a lovely television with a really unique design I think. I love the way you have it tilted on the unit, that really does give it the 'the look.' I think the picture is fine on those TVs and I was almost going to buy one but I went for an older BV6 model, only really because it was a good price and I was too tempted by it.

    Cheers,
    Simon.

    One more picture,

I LOVE the Beosound 9000, looks fabulous as always, and the red rug looks great with it's red lighting.

I really do like the design of the BV8. The thing is, i can't get my head around the BV8's lack of magic. It doesn't have the electronic curtains and it doesn't have motorised options, and besides the picture quality, those attributes are vital to a B&O television!! It's a ritual for me to come home from work and turn on the TV, always to see it turn to me and open like a cinema, don't you, as BV8 owners miss this??

When I see the BV8 on these Pictures I know which TV is the perfect one for my bedroom.

    Anybody? No?

I agree with you there Dave.

My Beovision 1 had the motorized stand, turning towards my favorite viewing position.

Miss that part of the B&O experience.

But one must remember that the BV8 is essential intended for casual viewing, and as a 2nd room TV.

Still, I think the design grows over time and make a statement. But an electronic curtain would be nice...
