broken master control panel (av9000) need alternative

Removal men dropped my master control panel for my beosystem av9000 – now on ebay for spares or repairs L

Looking for a change – I understand I need a mast link combatable device ??

Will any B&O systems do, which to connect to TV via masterlink and share speakers (8000’s and 6000’s connected to TV)

    i.e. beoseound 3000, 3200, 9000

    thanks

I think it depends on which type of AV9000 you have - the early ones seem to have a slightly different type of Masterlink socket. In principle, a masterlinked audio system should be fine though.

The later systems used the Ouverture i think... i would not buy another masterpanel, since the masterpanel will not work stand alone.

Every audio system should work with AV9000. I had a BC 9500, a BS7000 and a MCP 9000 connected to my AV 9000. And it`s the old 2way version.

You will need a Beolink converter (AV9000-audio kit - 1610 or maybe 1611) for audiosystems without ML.

Peter, remember we had the same discussion a few months ago. I have the oldest version of AV9000 and it was linked with my Beosound 4 with no problems at all. In fact it was connected to the rest (and still is) to the whole link in the house and no problems at all!!

    Best regards

I'm not sure if you got the email I tried to send you a while ago, but I've got one extra master panel, stashed away "in case I need it someday". It should be 100% working (have to check that...) and it seems that I don't have use for it for now.

Make me an offer, anything reasonable will probably be ok. Smile

OH? Mine's type 4305 with sw1.1 so would that work by un-plugging my BL3500 and plugging the AV900 into my ML of Avant RF DVD & BS3200?

I tried it and I got Radio, A.Tape & CD which is cool but the only issue I have is what do I need to get my STB playing from the Avant to the AV9000 in my bedroom? Would it be worst case scenario get a STB controller fitted? If so are there any MX ones in existence?

Hi there. I'm not sure if it is a matter of the stb. I guess that you have your Avant as a Video Master. Have you already installed the RF modulator which distributes the video signal from the Video Master to the rest of the linked TVs in the house?

    Best regards

Errr, well I used to have a set-up of non B&O tv and BL3500 in the link room so that was fine to watch sat & DVDs, but now with the AV9000 I can get audio sources, just not sure how to get the DVD & SAT source from the Avant? And as it was a non B&O tv I had the modulator or some setting on rather than the default off Huh?

Do I need something else like Beolink Video?

Maybe this was a third party modulator? For such an installation you definetely need the B&O RF modulator, provided of course that you have already made the cabling which means that all antena cables from link rooms are going to the modulator where your video master is.

Do you have such an installation?

Set your BL 3500 to option 4 (L.OPT.4) and you can control all your mainroom devices, audio and video by pressing LINK - SOURCE.

Store your link-frequency of the Avant to TV, channel 1 to the AV9000.

To watch a DVD from the mainroom, you have to press TV (1) and LINK-DVD. You will get the picture and sound (mono) on your AV9000, and sound (stereo) via the BL3500. It´s the same with all video-sources of your main room.

    Hope this helps.

Re: broken master control panel (av9000) need alternative

    Hey thanks Stefan Big Smile

Yeah I've got it set-up now, but was just wondering if there was a way of getting the Avant sources on it so I can use the BL3500 somewhere else in the house that's all?

On the fun side just got a MX7000 with motorised stand for $375, so my query would be do I just need an ML - Datalink convertor or a videolink, etc?

    Thanks,

Ben (Confused of Auckland) hehehehe Stick out tongue

Congratulations, yes, a Beolink Video 1615 should do it. you can use your MX as a link-TV for both audio and video.

If I connect an AV9000 (the tv, not the Master Panel) to a Beosystem 7000 (with passive speakers) via a 1610, will I be able to route the TV sound to the beomaster by pressing "av" + "tv"

At present, I have a bs7000 with passive speakers and an LX4500, and I always route the tv sound via the beosystem - I never use the tv's internal speakers. Will a 1610 allow me to use an av9000 in the same way as I use the LX in my current setup?

Yes  - will work. I used AV - TV ( or -SAT. -V.TAPE. V.AUX...) to get stereo sound in video linkrooms with MX4000s.

If I remember correctly, the 1610 converter only works with the older, 2way AV9000.

Ah, thank you! My plan is to get an old 2-way AV9000 (and a 1610, of course), but I wanted to check first that it would work the way I want it to - b&o's literature only mentions setups with active speakers, and I have passive speakers.

Yes, the 1610 will allow you to connect the AV9000 to the BS7000.

As long as it allows me to use the av9000 in the same way as I use my LX (ie routing the tv sound to the bs7000's passive speakers via "av" + "tv"), I'm satisfied :-)

Neil, how much is your 1610?
