    Switching off a DVD1?

    Hi All,

I have a DVD1 that I'm very happy with. The only problem is, when I finish watching a film and switch to Sat (my Virgin Box) on my RF Avant, the sound does not come through but the picture does. I've noticed that if I switch off the Avant (and the DVD1 then switches off) then back on again, the sound and picture from my Virgin box both come on.

I can only conclude the the silence problem must be because the DVD1 is still on and passing a silent sound signal via the digital Coax.

Therefore, does anyone know how to switch off the DVD1 via the Beo4 without switching my Avant off?

    Thanks

    Re: Switching off a DVD1?

Its the first time i hear something like this.

Is there a digital coax cable from the DVD1 to the DSS input on the avant?

Is there a digital coax cable from the virgin box to the DSS input on the avant?

Is the problem the same if you remove this cable?

To my knowledge there is no way to manually switch of a DVD1.

    Re: Switching off a DVD1?

    Hi there,

There is a digital coax between the DVD1 and  the Avant but not between the Virgin box and the Avant. This problem only started after I fitted the coax cable - everything was fine when sound was coming over the SCART.

Since I've already invested in the Coax cable I don't really want to have to remove it and go back to just SCART just to fix this problem.

Any alternative suggestions would be great.

    Thanks

You can press and hold down the red circle button on the DVD1 to manually switch it off, but then you need to get off your seat to do this. It seems the cable you bought is interfering with the setup. You might have to go back to Scart......

    Re: Switching off a DVD1?

I was worried that might be the case.

I really would have thought B&O would have thought things through a little more thoroughly than this. After all I am using a B&O TV and B&O DVD player to ensure that things work properly together.

    Very annoying!
