    Beosound 3200 Remote Control

Hello, I'm new to the website and also to B&O ownership, having just had my birthday for which my wife purchased me a Beosound 3200 and Beolab 6000s.

I was wondering if the Beo 4 remote is the only one which works with the Beosound 3200, or does the older Beolink 1000 remote work? I know someone who has an unused Beolink 1000 and thought it may save me purchasing the Beo4. Is the functionality the same etc.

I mainly want to use it for volume control, being lazy from the other side of the room!

Hope someone can put me right.

    Thanks,

    Lee

    Re: Beosound 3200 Remote Control

    Welcome first off,

I was in the same situation you are in right now, but with a BeoMaster 4500. I was looking for a BeoLink 1000 but I couldn't find one that was reasonably priced, or find one at all for that matter. However, most times I found that the Beo4 (new) was actually competitive in pricing with the BeoLink 1000. I was able to get a Beo4 for around $160, which was right with the BeoLink 1000. My advice is get the BeoLink 1000 if its cheaper but the Beo4 is completely worth it at the same time. I am completely satisfied with the Beo4 and I'm sure you would be too. Especially if you have a brand new system, I personally would get the Beo4, its not that much more.

Welcome to the forum, Lee. You apparently have a very nice wife Laughing

The Beolink 1000 and Beo4 send mostly the same codes, so you can use either one for day-to-day operation with no problems (volume, channel, source select, CD track, etc). Some functions may be a bit more awkward with BL1000, requiring you to press shift+something, not clearly marked on the buttons. This will also depend on the exact version of BL1000 you get. But try it first, I think you'll be quite happy with it.
