    CD laser cleaning

So my dad brought home a CD the other day and it has these two brushes on the bottom side so that when you play it, it dusts off the laser in your CD player. Before I went using it, I thought I would check and see if anyone had any thoughts about this. So does anyone think that the bristles will scratch the laser eye?

It will bang the lens assembly around repeatedly.
It may clean the lens but I'd say there's a huge risk of damage to the lens suspension.

I wouldn't recommend using any of these cleaning CD's.

I have used one a few times... i don't see what difference it makes though... I think it's a bit of a placebo

thats what i thought. i personally don't need one since the laser is in plain sight, but i guess it helps with they tray-style CD players where the laser is hard to get to.
