    Beogram 6500 dust cover

    Hi guys,

I have been searching for a nice Beogram 6500 turntable to complete one of my Beosoystem 6500s. I have noticed that several of the Beogram 6500s I have seen recently have dust covers that are sagging in the center at the back of the cover. Is this a common problem with these turntables?

    Thanks,

    Aaron

Yes, I've seen several in that condition.  Have one myself.  Also applies to the Beogram 7000, which is the same turntable with a different label.

    Not sure why tho..

    Hi Aaron,

My Beogram 7000 has exactly the same issue. I've heard it said that if you take the cover off and put it in a bowl of hot water with a weight on top, the problem can be solved. Not sure if this works, though. I don't have the guts to try this.

All Beogram 7000 record decks seem to have this problem. I tried the hot water & weight procedure, but with no result.

    Okay thanks guys,

This is probably something that I will just have to deal with if I ever find a BG 6500!
