    What is this cable for?

Does anyone know what this cable is for? It is an original B&O cable, number 6270114.

     Thank you,

    Aaron

in simplest terms, it looks like an extension for 5 pin din devices... think early w/o datalink nor control.

    (e.g.) connecting a bc2000 to bm2400 or similar.

it would allow more distant placement.

likely could be used elsewhere, anyone???

In the 70s or 80s it was very common for tape recorders to use an aux (din 5 pin) connection. You would connect recorder to radio/amp through a male male connection. So this is an extension for that. You can still find the 5 pin aux on BS9000 and others.

Today this is pretty much useless since most would use a aux din 5 pin to cinch converter and then get a cinch extension as this is most commonly used.

    Cheers
