Has nothing to do with the recession for me.....

What's stopping me buying anything new is the product range, not the prices....

Except the audio range, and I'm excluding BS5 here because I really don't get that product, I just don't see the value.....

BV10 looks like it might interest me....

Is there a recession ? Surprise

No sorry the last reason to stop buying B&O will be a recession. I think it's a very big media-related problem (they created 90% of the problem), and it makes me sick. Every time I put the tv on you hear: "yeah, and now the recession blablabla people stop buying blablabla", O really ? Get the hell out of my tv programms !

We Can't Get Enough B&O Stuff...

I'm just plain running out of rooms to put this stuff in.

And since we don't have any TVs, there is a whole range of products unlikely to make it to our place!

I am actually holding back. I delay other things as well, i.e. new car. I just feel that I am in a phase in my live where I should be building up wealth and the stock market looks very attractive right now. Everything I can I plan on saving & investing. Only splurge I do right now is travel, cause that is dirt cheap in my opinion. Think 300$ for a trip from NYC to Spain. Think discount codes that give you 40% off a published rate in a luxury hotel.

If Dow would be still at 12000 I would be eying a BS5 BM5 and who knows, maybe even BV10 when it pops up.

Thinking of making the jump from my Mk I 28" Avant (12 years old) to a Mk V BV7-32. ...

If everyone stops buying then you'll see the electronics makers go the way of some of the car makers  - i'm not buying out of duty though, I've wanted a BV7 for a while and the MkV appears to hit the sweet spot for me.

    Just my two cents

What recession? That's what we've been saying - nothing is different! I'm still getting paid the same, lots of customers, and any time soon i'll be dropping 5.5k on a pair of BL1's if iconic AV reply my emails! Big Smile

I think not talking about recession is stupid. Everyone knows that it will hit all, some sonner some later. Only a few will still have money to buy expensive B&O products. There is also a big fear about the future as food and other things will get expensiver. A lot of now rich people will be only a middle rich class in the future and TV prices beginning at 10.000,-€ for BV7 32'' will be very high for them. So not talking about recession is foolish. Of course there are people which still have the same sallary, so this now can say "Don't talk about recession" as they look to it from their angle of view. But how many rich will stay is question, also a big question to B&O. That's why new BV10 will be a middle class price positioned.

I agree with Avus completely, during recession, the things people stop buying are luxuries - who here doesn't think of B&O as a luxury. Would you sell a necessity such as your car to buy a new B&O product - I think not. Unless you have been saving up for a long time to buy a product ie before the recession really hit the world, you won't be in a position now to buy new products unless you are somone who doesn't need to save much and can just buy products from your salary. Basically the market for B&O products will certainly shrink as a result of recession and B&O products become out of reach of more and more people.

I'm in a "want" -business (design), nobody really needs the products I'm selling and business has been on a steady rise since last summer. My reasoning for this is that people who have money to spare don't have that many safe, viable investment options at the moment and more often than not they decide to indulge themselves instead.

Credit buyers are long gone, though. I've never really understood buyers who take 5-figure high-interest loans just to buy luxury items anyway.
