is it possible to upgrade a Beosystem 2?

I have just replaced the STC chip in my Beosystem 2 when i noticed lots of spare connector points on the electronic boards, one in particular is a spare connector point just below the RGBHV connector which is where the picture is output from. I was wondering because my beosystem 2 is HD ready but does not have a VGA input, aslo the option is not highlighted in the panel setup but  the casing does have the knockout ready for a VGA socket, the spare connector looks like it could be for the VGA input on the beosystem 2. If this is the case, could I just get a spare part lead & fit it & voila VGA input

Also as now curiosity had got the better of me so I had a look at other stuff.

Could the analogue tuner module be swapped out for a digital one or is it a bespoke module? I know you can get the DTV module but it does not replace the analogue & takes up an input & costs a arm and a leg!

The surround sound decoder chip board has a replaceable ROM chip exactly like the STC chip, does this hold the surround formats for the Analogue devices Sharc processor to deocode?

I Also noticed a connector point for FM, does this mean that you can put a FM tuner module in?

There is also a connector for DVD but I think this is for an Avant with DVD as they also use the same chassis. Correct me if I am wrongUnsure

Hopefully someone can help me as I would love to get some more milage out of the system as I do not yet have the funds for a new BV7-40 with inbuilt Beosysten 3.

    Thanks in advance

    Simon

Think this is something to ask a service engineer directly - I'm not sure how many members will have dissected a BeoSystem 2 to component level! Laughing

    Muchos Gracias Cool
