Hi guys,
I am very new to the B&O owners' club. I picked up an Ovuerture last night and am very excited to start on a voyage. I have had mobile and home phones for years but as a recent graduate, the price-tag has always been out of my reach.
Two things I'd like to raise;
a) I am from the UK, is there a UK section to this group as I do not want to frustrate users by posting on the wrong section but I cannot find it!
b) Just until I have enough funds to buy some BeoLab 6000's can someone tell me where to pick up the cabling to connect the Overture to an amp so I can play music through my existing speakers and to connect my ipod to the Ouverture too.
Thank you in advance!

Islanders!! Is that what you foreigners call us?
Welcome to Beoworld John! I'm sure you will enjoy your Ouverture (check spelling, not Overture) and can easily connect an MP3 player to the Aux socket. You will need a cable with a 5 pin DIN on one end, and they are easily available. Try Steve at Sounds Heavenly

Re: New Owner! B&O Overture
This is a UK based forum John so all UK posters use the general forum in the main.
I've moved this thread over there to save confusion amongst our friiends across the pond.
Chris.
The use of metaphors should be avoided like the plague. They're like a red rag to a bull to me.

I'm sure that Steve at http://soundsheavenly.co.uk/default.htm will also help with a lead to connect to your amp but you will need to email him and he will make it specially depending on your amp.

Re: New Owner! B&O Overture
Thank you guys, what a fantastic response!
I shall try the chap out...if I were to buy a pair of Beolab 6000's for instance is there a way of using them with a pair of non b&o speakers?
Thanks!

Re: New Owner! B&O Overture
Hi johnking,
Welcome to the forum!
(Yet another Brit answering, so I'll keep out of the islands argument!)
You can connect your iPod into the Aux socket on the Ouverture and select A.Aux to play this through your B&O system. The cables are easy to obtain. If you are using a non-B&O amplifier and passive speakers instead of Beolab speakers, just look for a Powerlink to Amplifier Cable and connect this to one of the Powerlink outputs, then into a line level input on your amp. Set whichever volume control you DON'T intend to use regularly (ie. the non-B&O amp) to around 75% and then use the other control (ie. the Ouverture) as normal.
Any B&O cable specialist should be able to provide the cables you need.
Best regards,
Steve.
