    Hi Sandy

Are the cards you are using registered to your home address?  The 'fraud filter' or whatever they call it runs a shed load of checks, and if anything is amiss it kicks it out..

Also, what make/type of cards are you using?

Technically, i am indeed 'away' - with the fairies, as we are moving into a new premises that is consuming more man hours than the building of the great wall of China! Normal service will be resumed in a few weeks, but for now i'm a quiet on these here forums!

Cut Lee a little slack. Lifestyle is moving at this moment! Normal service will be restored as soon as possible.

    Re: Gold subscription problems.

Sorry Sandy - i try and manage to grab 5 minutes here and there to contribute as best i can, but it's not nearly enough at the moment. Sad

This appears to be purely a card processing issue. HSBC have a 'filter' on card payments, and if the name, address, postcode etc that you are registering with do not match the card billing address it will either accept the payment - pending a manual 'fraud review' on my HSBC  e-payments review/control panel which i need to log into, or it will simply decline the card thinking it's a fraudulent attempt.  I have no control over this at all - everything is set by HSBC and their card security team.

If you can email me at ' beoworld_admin@mac.com ' with as much info as possible, i will bring it up with the e-payments team at HSBC on Monday when they re-open.  I value every single membership immensely as the site would not exist without paying members, so please don't think for one minute i don't care.  I know it's pretty irrelevant to BeoWorld issues really, but i am currently working around 13-15 hours a day moving premises with LifeStyle AV which i am finding is really affecting the time i get to devote to BeoWorld and indeed my family.  I can only apologise, and assure you i will turn my attention back to every single problem on the site as soon as we are done.

Thanks Lee,  it just felt as if i and a couple of others seemed to be being ignored slightly regarding a fundamentally important aspect of the future well being of the sites financial interests.

I also didnt appreciate that you alone manage the entire site.!!   Good luck getting moved.

Lee deals with all the financial aspects of the site - and indeed bank rolls it. Keith manages the IT issues and the moderators keep the site running.

    Re: Gold subscription problems.

I have experienced the same issues since Saturday a week ago whilst attempting to upgrade to gold, and have taken three actions:

    • Monday - called +44 1323 504100
    • Monday - emailed Lee at mac.com upon the recommendation of someone at +44 1323 504100
    • Thursday - left a message on the website's contact form

Frankly, I was becoming somewhat concerned but just now I read Lee's explanations with the fact that he will be busy for a few weeks, so I shall be patient! Smile

(Although if I may make a suggestion, perhaps the strictest card controls could be lifted temporarily?  If my instrument of purchase later turns out to have been of a, shall we say, dubious quality, my membership could be revoked, uh?  At least in the U.S., the merchant —in this case Beoworld— has the option of lowering the  automated acceptance thresholds gradually, even to the point that anyone from any country can be accepted so long as a valid card number is entered, and this very method was used with enormous success in politics recently).

Why don't you open a paypal account or give us the bank account details?

    Hi Lee

Sorry, I have just tried to upgrade from Bronze to Gold and I'm afraid I'm still getting the same message as before Sad

I've tried twice and double checked the details. I have a Visa Debit card if that helps.

Didn't work for me either, using the same (well, renewed) Visa Credit card I used last time.

I tried shuffling the first and last names around, all caps, etc...

EDIT: and my Business Eurocard/Mastercard didn't work either, which on the other hand saves me from trying to come up with an explanation to the accountant Stick out tongue

Regarding the manuals - I have sent you a PM awhile ago about a DVD1 MKII manual I have. Not sure if you got it?

The Service manual for the Mark II DVD1 and user manuals are on the Beoworld web site, but if you are having any problems downloading them, then you can download both of them in a zip file from HERE

Thanks Keith, but I don't need it actually. I did a couple of months ago and it wasn't on the site, so I had my dealer sent me one. I was just asking Lee if he would like to put mine on the site. Doesn't really matter now : ) Thanks anyway.
