    Blue Beolab Picture

Pictures of blue Beolabs seem to be very rare. Thought I would post this one.

wow where did you find this? Ick!  I think there's a reaon there are no pictures of blue B&O, not many people have royal blue decor!

The blue really spoils it for me... in a combination like this one i would say black would've been alot nicer, including having the BV7 in black...

I found it in our home LOL. Taste is a personal matter. We think the blue is beautiful contrasted with the greys and silvers of the stands and BV7 and tweeters.  We started out with Beolab 9s in black and the Beolab 7 in gray,...dull and boring. It just lacked the fun quotient of our burgundy/red Avant and speakers.

Big Cabinet Tower you got there, you got it fill'd with devices in every drawer?

Personally I would have chosen a more neutral color as well but I always congratulate when people make a bit more gutsy moves.

And in the end, if I see correct the BV7 is silver and the speaker covers can be changed relatively easily. Very wise if you change your mind in futire.

My BL2500 has blue covers in the beginning, then black and then later metalic silver. I still love that setup after 10 years or so.

I can see why you did this - it definitely makes it much more interesting!

From a personal taste point of view, I would have painted the wall behind burgundy and kept the grey and black speakers but design is IMO an immensely personal thing.

If you like them, that's fine but don't expect to find many others that will pay for them when you want to sell them.

Same with burgandy, worthless on the secondhand market, can't give 'em away!!

There is a plus side..........you don't have to remember the pin codes 'cos they're not worth nicking!!!!

I have a blue Avant, 4000s and Beolab 2. I love blue and I didn't buy them to sell them!

Don't listen to 'em Raz! Stick out tongue   If both you, and the 'design committee' like the blue, then I think you have it made.  I would love to see the wall done in a more neutral grey or white, to more closely match the aluminum though.

The cabinet has a Monster Power voltage stabilizer in it, a Panamax power conditioner, Blu-Ray and two shelves left over.

Whether or not someone else might want to buy them from me in blue is irrelevant. I did not purchase them with the intent to sell them and if I did desire to sell them and somebody did not like the blue the black and grey grills can be re-installed in a matter of minutes.

I would second the request Peter, please post a picture.

Oh i'm so sorry Razlaw!! (what is your name?) Smile

It is quite right, this is a personal thing, i was just putting in my personal opinion, so no offence intended. i can not however, applaud the choice of only having the speaker in blue, the Blue BV7 together here would have made it appealing... i remember though that you bought this at a non B&O retailer so the choice wasn't there.

I'm in the same boat regarding buying B&O, i certainly don't plan to sell it, (besides it's only the covers) unless i become bankrupt and homeless... not gonna happen.

I must ask this however> You bought a power conditioner and voltage stabiliser... why?! Confused

I like it!  Its nice to see some colour rather than the norm!

I had a green avant!  At first I didn't like it, but it does grow on you! Now I have a silver avant, sometimes I long for a interesting feature.

The BeoLab 9s look great in colours. I think I would stick to a black pair so they're not too imposing, but if you've got the right room they can really kick out appeal.

I don't like the BeoLab 3s in colour, even the grey, but this is about taste once again.

Thanks for sharing the photo with us, it's always interesting to see B&O in a real setup instead of the perfect staged setups in the catalogue.

No need to say sorry, absolutely no offense was taken.  We could have done the entire TV in blue but originally purchased it and the speaker in grey. I was very unhappy with the poor color match B and O has between the grey 7-4 and the grey BV7. I desired either a perfect match or a great deal of contrast. We really do prefer just the 7-4 being blue and like the contrast very much. Additionally it leaves us with more flexibility should we wish to move the BV7 to a room where blue would not work, we can just change the grills.

Our dealer had an interior designer order a BV7 for a client, blue and red, although I do not remember if the BV7 was red with a blue 7-4 or the other way around.  Our dealer is an official B and O store.  I even bought a pair of Beolab 4000s there once from a B and O executive who was there for a special sale as the corporate headquarters are just a short distance from the store.

Here is an article on them.

As for the power conditioner and voltage stabilizer, we purchased those to improve the sound and picture. I know there is a debate over the benefits of such devices, but both my wife and I notice the improvement that each creates.  Watching the voltage stabilizer it is amazing how much the incoming voltage level fluctuates.

And to answer your first question last...Richard.
