    5.08:alot of red

Just got updated on BS3/BV4 at the dealer. Noticing alot of red in the SW version menu screen . I recall that someone had mentioned that certain lines might be red on one of the newer software builds but this seemed a bit more than I would expect. My dealer is super cool for installing this at my request but we weren't able to check it at the shop as I was just swinging the unit buy long enough to upload the software. Any thoughts if this may be normal for this newest build?

5.08 is not an official build according to my dealer, the latest official build is 5.04 i think, and the red lines in your SW table means that your tv hasn't got an official full build, but an "incremental update". I had the same issues when i got the 4.24 SW 14 days before release.

Actually they are working on a 5.09 already, but as of now, the 5.08 is not a complete build.

5.08 (build 439) IS a complete build actually. Something failed during the update because the
picture still shows build 337 which is very old! Probably your dealer has updated the sw manually.

It is funny how the dealers gives such different information, i just talked to him again, and he cannot update to a newer version than 5.04 ... Go figure :)

Maybe it is a bit country specific.

The dealer service tool has been upgraded on Feb 11th to version 0.6.1.6 which
    includes the build 439 (sw 5.08) for BV7-40 mkIII/TV, BS3, B4/9 mkII/mkI-III.

It's important especially for UK customers as it solves the Sky HD from link-room
    issue!

As far as I know it this is not country specific (at least in Europe).

    Re: 5.08:alot of red

sw 5.08 installed this afternoon. all the problems resolved (hope so...Confused

the green button works as usual, before it was impossible to access at the interactive menu at the sky hd decoder

the red button works now for the record function ( press go and red for rec and again go and red for cancel on the beo4)

now lets hope that this will be one of the last important upgrade to eliminate this huge amount of bugs

Hi, I have just upgraded my BV7-40 Mark III with software 5.08. The new menues is very nice. Looks much more cool than the old gray ones.

Does anybody experienced any new bugs with the software?

My impression is that the mark3 Bv7-40 is up and running now, after 16 month!!!

I have owned B&O products for over 20 years and have newer experienced any problems before. It is sad that it has taken 16 month to get a TV-set that works perfect.

    Re: 5.08:alot of red

I thought I would post an update. As others pointed out there was indeed a problem with the update and we ended up attempting it several times without success until we tried updating the software incrementally one update at a time. We only needed to do the more important updates to the software (which ended up being 3 installs for mine) and once those took we would proceed to the next one. It took a while but if anyone else has a simar problem than the incremental thing may do the trick.
