    Humax Freesat STB/c

I have a Beosystem 2 with the latest STB controller software fitted v4.01 West Europe.

On the list of devices it can control are the following Humax devices:-

Humax DTT-4100      Humax PVR 9200T      Humax CI 5100C     Humax PR HD1000     Humax HDCI 2000     HumaxCI 8100 PVR               Humax F1-VACI

My question is the current range of Humax satellite boxes are FoxSat      FoxSat HDR       iCord      Combo 9000

Will the commands from any of the installed devices control the new boxes ?

Has anyone out there got one working ?

    Hi bdm01

I use Humax Freesat and control it with Beo5 however I have to get my dealer back to tweak some of the functions.

    Re: Humax Freesat STB/c

I don't have a Humax STB of any kind, but I have done some research into the subject and the following are my conclusions:-

The Humax HD Freesat box is supported by the PUC and can be uploaded by the dealer.

All the Humax remote infra-red signals I reviewed used NEC protocol with a carrier frequency of 38Khz

The following is the protocol used by all the Humax codes I reviewed

In particular, I compared common commands used by the Humax PR HD 1000 and the Freesat HD and I found them to be the same.

As an example I looked at the UP & DOWN commands and both had the following bit string:-

    UP       binary BITS=11111111 01101101 01110111 10001000

    DOWN binary BITS=11111111 01101101 01010111 10101000

As you can see above all Humax STB's uses the same product address of FFB6

So, the conclusion is that for common commands, it will work, but you will find that there are a couple of FREESAT commands which will not be available.

    Regards Keith....

    Re: Humax Freesat STB/c

    Thanks Keith,

Thats what I call research ! I'm using a beosystem 2 so it's not PUC but STBC and I have the latest S/W

It might be easier to go for the HDCI 2000 that is on the list, but I sort of hoped that I could use most of the functions of the Foxsat box. maybe I still can but as you have explained we can't be sure.

    Thanks for your input
