B&O webcast invite for BeoWorld members!!

Well - BeoWorld has done it again...  We have organised a personal invite for 25 BeoWorld Members to take part in a Live Webcast with three Senior members of Bang & Olufsen staff to ask questions about the frankly huge new BeoVision 4 due for release shortly.

The Webcast will be a product presentation of BeoVision 4 - 103" including the hydraulic motorised stand and BeoLab 10. After the presentation the invitees are personally invited to submit questions to a panel of Bang & Olufsen's very own experts consisting of Ben Leornadus Verbraak, Senior Manager R&D, Ole Moltsen, Product Manager and Marc Wälti, Technical Training Manager.

What we need are 25 people who wish to participate to email me their email addresses to ' beoworld_admin@mac.com '  -  Once i have these, (sorry, it will be first come first served) within the next 24 hours, i will compile a list of them and send it to B&O's CRM Manager in Struer.  On Thursday, a special link, login and password will be sent to your own email address directly from B&O which will enable you to access the live webcast the following Tuesday evening.

The webcast will take place on Tuesday the 24th of February at 8.00pm Central European time.

So - if you want to take part in this special event, please send me your name and email address to ' beoworld_admin@mac.com ' quickly!!

PS - Please note that these people are experts within this product - but are not necessarily able to answer in-depth questions on other products or on company specific issues. B&O would therefore politely ask that invitees consider this when they ask questions!  (Apart from that you can of course ask anything you like).

I think it is great that B&O are opening up to Beoworld and allowing us to contribute. Well done Lee.

However, I must confest that I am a little cycnical over the product they have chosen to do this - that is unless B&O intent to do this with all their new product releases. Then it really will be a major step forward. Damn-right impressive indeed.

Personally, If I had the dosh, I would go for a rather nice low-milage 2007 Aston Martin DB9 in Obsidian Black rather than the BV4-103.

I will also be tucked-up in bed good and proper at that time of night so for my part, I beleive the correct ettiquette will be "thank you but no thank you".

Good luck to the lucky ones. It would be great to hear and see how this webcast pans-out.

    Cheers.

Have sent a request through mail Lee...

The race for quality has no finish line- so technically, it's more like a death march.

To be fair, I have no idea what I'd ask about that 103" TV! Other products, sure.

Same here really, other than yes you can repackage Panasonic's big screen, it's not likely to be a mainstream product for which I may want to bring my particular insights to bearUnsure

It's not lack of interest Lee, I just don't feel my knowledge of the newer Beovisions is up to scratch to participate.
Great to see yet more liasons between B&O and BeoWorld.Yes - thumbs up

    Perhaps i don't understand correctly,

but there was a list with access numbers (international),

which appeared on my screen after i clicked the link in the invition-email.

Or do you mean something different ?

Re: B&O webcast invite for BeoWorld members!!

Below are my impressions of the webcast and information on the BV4-103 :

The webcast is over, IMHO it was a bit embarrassing....

Only a few people called-in after Ben Verbraak and Ole Moltsen answered a few questions

that were asked by the (nervous) presentor.

In the beginning, the audio was muted, and the picture quality was average, at best,

    even with my broadband connection.

For a company like B&O, presenting their top-of-the-line tv,

i was expecting (a lot) more.

I guess this was the first time that they presented something in this way,

hopefully next time it will be better.

They did point out that it was an informal presentation.

    As for the BV4 - 103 :

    Not many new things to say about it;

    - very big, very expensive.

    - great hydraulic stand (...)

    - price : € 100.000,- (including BeoSystem 3, BeoLab 10 and the stand)

    - 2 mounting options: the hydraulic stand and a fixed wall mount

    - lead time (ordering --> delivery) : 3-4 months (BV4-103 will only be built on order)

    - Panasonic plasma

    - availability : ordering possible now, delivery about July 2009)

    - Where can we see the BV4 - 103; all dealers ? No, - London, Munich, New York, Moskou

    - Viewing distance : with Standard Definition : 6 x picture height (1.3 m) = 8 meters

with High Definition: 3 x picture height = 4 meters

    - best plasma panel, anti reflection screen, high-end video engine, Vision Clear / BS3

    - power consumption : 1200-1300 W. (meets EU regulations)

    - Why a BV4-103 : showcase of what is possible and to show that B&O will produce tv's

from high-end to entry level (referring to the new BV8-40

    - Beo 5 included (...)

It was nice to see the pre-launch webcast, hopefully we will see webcasts of new products in the future

about products for a larger group of potential customers.

    Smile

I guess these were the codes which could be heard on the webcast ?

"please press star + 1" and so on.

No, when you called in you connected to a general operator for many conference calls.  He or she had to have the conference code to connect you to the right conference.  Only after you where connected the proper conference would dialing  * 1 get the operators attention so you would be able to ask a question.   No code was in the email or web page that I could see.[quote user="Ignace"]

Re: B&O webcast invite for BeoWorld members!!

    Ah, i understand now.

I guess the 2 ladies that asked the questions were the only ones that

    actually received these conference codes.

Or worse, they faked it by letting a few local employees make a phonecall  LOL
