    Re: Bang & Olufsen goes OLED

    BV8 40 will be around £3700 - £4000, Moxxey you're quite right about the BV10.  While you might be quite right about LED backlight and not OLED, it was stated by B&O at a recent meeting that BV 7 55 will use OLED backlight - now this could have been a mistake on their part but it was said.

    I don't think it's OLED backlight, it's just LED backlight technology, like they use across the Apple MacBook range.

    Isn't that what I said??Erm

    edit: sorry Moxxey, I didn't realise the question had cropped up again since my earlier post.

    I think Samsungs have LED backlighting at this size but I was really just speculating what he might have heard that could have been misconstrued.

    Generally speaking, you aren't learning much if your lips are moving.

    OLED != LED

    Sorry, I meant that OLED technology differs from LED backlight technology. Different thing entirely. ie. it's not 'OLED backlight technology'.

    I'm sure Simon will be over the moon when he sees the BV10 :)

    Yes, I guess that was a small mistake on their part. I'm sure it will use LED backlight technology which *will* improve picture definition as it gives a more even brightness across the screen.

    Mind you, why that would be on a BV7-55 and not the BV7-40 is very confusing. I don't really want to trade-up from a MKIV BV7-40 to a MKV, for a long time.
