    No Sound from BeoMedia

    Dear BeoPhiles,

My BeoMedia flashed up an error message which I didn't understand, so following telephone call to dealer  I rebooted it. Error message disappeared but so did sound. BeoMedia is connected to an old BV 5 via a CVBS/AUDIO to SCART cable. N.MUSIC and N.RADIO appear to be playing on screen but no sound, just a clicking. I notice when I reboot the BeoMedia I have 5 seconds to select "BeoMedia Recovery," but as I have not had the confidence to connect a keyboard and mouse, it defaults to "BeoMedia." The dealer is convinced it is simply a loose SCART but I don't agree.

Finally, the only documentation I received when I purchased this infuriating black box six months ago was a "Setting-up Guide." I this week received a PDF of a "Getting Started" manual which is so much more useful. Did B & O deliberately not include any useful instructions and should the "Getting Started" manual be added to the site?

Looking forward to your collective expertise.

Plug some headphones into the Beomedia audio socket - that should confirm whether the SCART isn't connected correctly

The manuals are on site. I agree with you that a really good reference manual is missing - but I have never seen one! Laughing

    Dear Frog,

Thank you for your prompt reply. I did plug headphones into AUDIO with no joy. I also plugged a pair of PHONOS in to the BeoMedia (between CVBS and AUDIO) and the BV5 via a COMPOSITE/SCART adapter. Again no sound.

    Thanks again.

    Re: No Sound from BeoMedia

    On my Beoport + BS3200 sometimes N.Radio or N.Music doesn't react.
I see it (and hear it ofcourse) that it doesn't work.
The BV7 display shows N.Radio only after approx. 8 seconds.
When all is o.k. "N.Radio" is visible on this display within 2 seconds.

    So if I may guess?
There is something wrong with your software inside the Beomedia.

Looks like you need a rebuild. Afraid you'll have to connect a keyboard to the Beomedia and choose Recovery.
