Hi
I have a BC 9500 and purchased a Beolink 1000 as this is the remote suggested on the products page but it doesnt seem to work?? Is there possible something wrong with the remote sensor?
Thanks
Andy
The 9500 is a two-way device and was typically used with a BeoLink 5000 or a BeoLink 7000. Therefore it is possible that your 9500 is set for a two-way remote and that's why it won't work with a BeoLink 1000. Try to set it in a one-way mode. I have no idea how to do it, but I'm sure someone who does will be along shortly.
The BC9500 may be in Option 0. Try re-setting to Option 1
With the BC9500 in Standby press SOUND, 1, STORE on the BL1000
The display on the BC9500 should read 1 momentarily and the remote should now control the BC

Incorrect I'm afraid, the BC9500 works in 1 or 2 way depending on the remote used and there is no way of setting it to work in one way or the other.
Ta da!! it worked with your suggestion. What happens if I ever want to use a two way??
Many thanks for your expertise!!

You just use it It's the remote that needs to know which devices are two-way and which are not. The two-way appliances themselves will respond appropriately whenever they receive a command from a two-way remote.

Just buy any 2-way remote like BL5000 or BL7000. However, neither are particularly reliable in my opinion although I'm sure that others will disagree!!!
I'd recommend sticking with 1-way and use BL1000 or Beo4 but that is probably just me.
Agree with Graham - the Beolink 1000 and Beo4 are both extremely hard wearing and superb remotes. The Beolink 5000 is particularly unfriendly to use as it has buttons on both sides and a very definite time limit so thinking is not an option!! The Beolink 7000 does offer quite a lot of extra features and is particularly useful when used in a link room as it gives a huge amount of information about the status of the system and also allows you to program the system - and to a much larger extent than is allowed on the 9500 alone. However the Beolink 7000 is getting old and is increasingly difficult to repair or get spare parts for.
Just for the record. I have the BL1000 and BL5000 for my 9500. I *hate* the 5000. It may look cool, but the LCD is useless unless it has something behind it.
When i press SOUND on my BC9500, it just momentarily turns on the volume lights and nothing else.
What else do i need to do?

Hi and welcome to Beoworld, what are you trying to do with your BC9500?
Chris.
The use of metaphors should be avoided like the plague. They're like a red rag to a bull to me.
Sound is always followed (or preceded) by another command.Like Chris said, we need to know what you want to do.
Poor me, never win owt!
