Best ever designed BeoLab fom Bang&Olufsen

What do you think is BeoLab 8000 best ever designed Bang&Olufsen loudspeaker? Is this speaker what makes the company recognized in the world? I think it is the speaker that is produced the longest time.

Agree on the 8000 but for me it's the Penta series both design and sound!!!

Didn't you ask this the other week? I remember arguing the BL9s were better and more effective.

Can't we organise polls for these 'what's the best' discussions?

Whether you asked the question before or not, I think the answer has to be the BL8000 - at least from a visual perspective.

Pentas sound quite good but I personally think they are one of B&O's less visually appealling products - neither the shape or the steel finish seemed to "fit" with B&O AV products of the time (or since).

The looks of the Beolab 8000 are great. However, for the same sort of money I prefer the performance of the Beolab 3. Beolab 5 wins hands down if cost is not an issue...

Beoworld's twenty-eighth ninth prize winner and fifty-first second prize winner. Best £30 I've ever spent!

I prefer the design and sound of the BeoLab 5 over any other speaker in the range, although the BeoLab 9 is a close contender for me.

Even four exclamation marks can"t convince me. BL1 in black from a sculptural design point of view, BL 9 price value...

I agree with the Beolab 5 as being the best.  Although i cannot afford them i was present at a demo and the sound washed over me like a wave.  Truly outstanding speakers along with the price[:'(]

The Beolab 8000 is a piece of technical art for your living room that doesn't dictate the design of the environment. I have 4 of them and they don't scream "HEY LOOK, I AM A SPEAKER!!!" ... from a technical perspective, the Beolab 5 is a dream come true that dictates the design of your living room .... but its ok if you once listened to the sheer power they produce... I LOVE THEM BOTH! ...

Re: Best ever designed BeoLab fom Bang&Olufsen

Nice post... It has to be between the BL8000s and the Pentas for me too. The Pentas were the first speakers that really caught my eye when I was a 'nipper' (a young guy for our European friends!) and I must say I looked at them in total awe. The 8000s are so unique they can't not be up there, but don't you think this links nicely with the thread about the BeoLounge ... someone posted that B&O should move away from the 'furniture' aspect and sell more their technical aspects which are just as good, a point I am in complete agreement with, but it does go to show that the design/furniture philosophy is very much at the heart of B&O as a company, and I for one am glad. So, back to topic, betweent the two I'd have to go with the 8000s because of the statement they make, you look at them and know straight away they are Bang and Olufsen. They are the speaker that encompases everything B&O stand for.

    Simon.
