    beomaster 2200 disaster

hi hope you can help. i had a perfectly functioning bm2200 when i got it it diddn't come with an ariel so i borrowed the one from my portable tv which worked perfectley as a short term measure. when i got a replacment i plugged it in to the 240-300 ohm connector. now the tuner sounds awful and wont hold a station .i measured the resistance of the new ariel and despite having the correct plug measured about 85ohms .does anyone have any idea what might have been damaged i have ordered a capacitor kit from martin will this help ?

    many thanks

I doubt the aerial did anything - I would guess that it just needs servicing. I take it going back to the TV aerial doesn't help!! I think the service pack from Martin is a good start but suggest that the power rail voltage probably needs looking at whilst in there.

    Probably a coincedence.

Capacitors at the power supply board will probably be to blame. Replace the caps, you can't really trust anything
before that has been taken care of.

Measuring DC ohmic value on an antenna won't tell you its impedance.
