Good price! Very nice sounding amplifier and the presets controls are the best B&O did. The tape deck is a stripped out 5000 - don't use your best tapes - it will eat them! I gave mine to Tim Jarman as he was the only person I knew who could possibly get it working properly. I paid more than you did though! (Not that much more but didn't get the extras!)

    Re: Recent Purchases

WOW, just got back from collecting this little lot. Was very surprised to find all the items in the original boxes. An absolute mint BG1500 which looks like new. Although the MMC20S is damaged. One mint pair of P45's and as for the Beocenter all that is wrong is the flap on the left hand side does not lift up on its own any more. But what was a surprise is in trhe box was one of the bar type AM aerials. How rare are these? All you see on Ebay are the loop type and the amplified one they did.

Just managed to acquire some Bl6000s so that I could get the 4500 up & running after two years in boxes. Now my clients can sit back and eat listening to beautiful B&O to help their digestion!

Have heard of folk upgrading the hard drive in their iPods without issue but after a quick look on the net it would seem 80Gb is still pretty much the biggest capacity drive available in the 1.8" format. (but if you hang on theres bound to be bigger ones available some time)

Generally speaking, you aren't learning much if your lips are moving.

Bought a Canon G7 before Easter... very nice, although thare are 5 pixel-faults on the screen, but aparently, Canon say that is probably within their quality margins (I am going to get the screen checked at a Canon repairshop later this week).

    best regards

Just before the old BW went toes up I bought me a BM6000 which was sold as spares or repair. With a wee bit of tinkering it burst into life, it drives my RL6000 so sweetly, WELL PLEASED with itCool

Is it the one looks like a BM8000 in shape? Got offered one for free once. Turned it down as the display had gone. Was told they can be a bit of a pain to repair.

    Re: Recent Purchases

OK Computer on CD, my last REAL purchase.

Although what feels like a new purchase, my B&W DM7s. They were sat in the top of the garage for ages, I was using my little DM303s and a Yamaha sub (ewww) because they could play louder. I got bored the other night though, so I thought it would be interesting to listen to them this time being driven by the Beosystem (not heard this setup before).

WOW, they are just UNBELIEVABLE! The soundstage is as good as BL3s IMO, but only if you sit smack bang in the right place. Bass is pretty stupendous too! Don't play very loud though, but I can't believe how fantastic all my music sounds...

Very nice. Wonder if Ridax's Ipod dock works with a BM6000?

    HDR1

The hard disc is 17 hours in total (80gb).
In the first week I managed to fill it completely.
Now I'll let the HDR1 do it's job, deleting old info and replacing it with new fresh films and series...

    It's just what I want.
    Simple in use.
    Feedback quality is o.k.

Actually there are already 100 GB 1.8" drives available with 120 GB drives arriving very soon. Alternatively do as I do and carry two (an 80GB and a 60 GB) or just the one and a gently modified 12" Powerbook with a 160 GB HD.
