What type of Powerlink cable is this? (Picture)

Quick question but what type of powerlink cable is this with B&O PN 6250003? Asking since I was trying to find wiring info.

I am not sure, but it looks thick, so my guess is MK2.

    Living room: BV7-40 mkIV + V8000, BL5, BL3, BM1 and BS9000. Bedroom: MX3000 and BL4500 on MCL2-AV. Around: PentaIII, CX100 and MCX35 on ML/MCL + MCL2-A, BeoPort and BL4 on ML, BS3300 + M75 as stand alone, BC6000 + BC600 and BT1100, LC1, LC2, Beo4, Beo5 and BL1000, BS2 and A8, EarSet2, Apron, Coffee mugs, Enamel Bagdes, Bath towel, Keyring, Books, Lots of miniature and the Bottle opener. Office: BC2300 + BL2500 and BS3. Summer house: BS Century.

    Addicted? Oh no.... ;)

    Hi,

This is mark 2 Powerlink.  Here's how you can tell:-

    1) The thick white wire contains data and data ground cores (this is only present in mark 2 cable)

    2) The tinned spiral screens are left and right audio

    3) The three coloured wires (yellow, pink and grey) are switching conductors, eg. power on and overload.

This cable is fine for any Beolab speaker with Powerlink sockets, including models with displays (eg. Beolab Penta) and also Beolab 5, which requires mark 2 cable.

    Best regards,

    Steve.

It's around 4mm thick and has a total of 4 wires + 2 shield. How many wires does Mk3 have? Tried to find wiring diagram that match the cable but can't locate that remotely matches.

    Hi Kim,

Mark 3 Powerlink is the same, but without the thick white wire (this carries data for speakers with displays).  Mark 3 has a blue wire instead for voltage reference (replaces the data ground inside the white wire).

    Full wiring diagram here:- http://www.beoworld.org/beotech/wiring2.htm

    Best regards,

    Steve.

Thanks to both of you; this cable then is then OK for BL8000 but not BL2, or?

How do one tell which of the tinned spiral screens that are left vs right?

Hrm... I stand corrected; I didn't notice the wire within the tinned spiral screens... that's why I couldn't work this one out.

    Powerlink Mk2
