    Comvert Beogram 4500 220v to 110v

    Hi All

Need a little help if possible

    I need to convert a Beocord 4500 from 220v to 110v

Am looking for an old Beocord 4500 110v that I can strip the power supply out off and put in my mint Beocord 4500

Anyone knows if any other Beocord’s or any other products use the same Power Supply this will give me more options.

Have already converted my Beogram 4500 as I found out quite a few Beogram products use the same power supply

Is it the same situation for the Beocord 4500 if so can anyone let me know

    Thanks

    Barry

    barry,

    received your email...

can anyone confirm or deny that the bc3300 power supply is interchangeable w/ the bc4500?

...before i go tearing one apart.

I'm sure you're aware of this Barry but just in case you weren't, you could simply just use a step-up transformer. The product works in its new environment and its authenticity is maintained. I acquired a Beosound Ouverture (aka 4000) from Hong Kong and brought it to the States. With a cheap US$15 transformer it runs just fine.

    Re: Comvert Beogram 4500 220v to 110v

    Hi Jeff

    Sorry I misunderstood

Actually that was my question to the forum other than the power supply from an 110v BC4500 which is obviously compatible, are there any other power supply from other Beogram BCxxxx models that I can use as a donor power supply to get 110v.

So I am not sure myself if the power supply from a BC3300 will interchange with a BC4500

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks

    Barry

    Re: Comvert Beogram 4500 220v to 110v

    Hi Leo

Thanks yes I have considered this as an alternative,

Only difference I guess is the power supply is more stable in the USA.

Where my equipment will be located is in a small village in the South of Taiwan so the power is a little unstable that is the only reason I though best to use the correct power supply.

All my B&O equipment (BS9000 BL8000 BL6000 BL4000) are currently at B&O Taipei been converted from 220v to 110v (I must say also at reasonable cost)

I have already sourced an 110v Power Supply (ebay) for my BG4500 and had the conversion done and it works fine.

But I now need to source an 110v for my BC4500

My impression of power transformers/converters was big and heavy, but I guess this has changed if you can buy one for US$15.00.

I will keep the transformer route as an option if I have no luck to source the actual power supply

    Thanks

    Dear Jeff

Have spoken with B&O here in Taiwan

They confirm that a Power Supply from a BC 3300 will fit in a BC 4500

Please can you quote me to send a BC 3300 110v Power supply to Taiwan

    Thanks for your help

    barry,

have a bc3300 on the table and stripped to the core. before i "pull the plug" on this...

what exactly do you want? the transformer is soldered via 8 pins to the main board. do you want just the transformer, the transformer +plug, the whole ass'y including the board, or would you rather i just pack up the whole piece to you? it is not that heavy...

LMK - i can take a pic if it helps.

    Thanks

    barry,

i think that is wise... plus you'll have spare HX-PRO deck parts that surely will be hard to come by when/if they fail in your 4500...

you have a PM CONVERSATION / EMAIL...
