    Beosound 5: Pricedrop before release?

    Hi,

     

    could it be possible that B&O is lowering the price of the Beosound 5 even before its official release? I called another dealer today and he told me that the price of 4850,- Euro will be lowered officialy.

    Is that true? Can anybody confirm this?

    I heard this price before at my dealer last year (2008 dec)

    The price was quoted at 4300 euro in a HiFi magazine in Finland about a month and a half ago.

    I didn't think of asking the price when my dealer demoed me the BS5 earlier this week...

    But compared to for example the Naim HDX the BS5 isn't that bad, HDX is 6350 euros. And apparently not that good.

    not that good!!!

    I don't think so,Naim is a very good high-end brand.

    I would be very surprised if the price was dropped, as according to B&O, the BS5 sales actually exceed expectations despite the current economic crises.

    Yes Naim is good, but the HDX has gotten a bit of mixed reviews.

    Agreed, the HDX is actually a little disappointing. I'm a fan of Naim's kit - their amplifiers produce a very distinctive sound.

    The HDX is just rather boring though. I would be much better off just connecting some nice Apogee conversion to my iMac and using that instead. It would sound equally as good if not better too...
