Hello from Arkansas! Recently acquired a pair of RL 140s that required the usual woofer surround replacement. Testing after refoam was completed revealed the woofers to be sounding fine, quite good as a matter of fact. One speaker seemed to be dull sounding overall, however. Long troubleshooting story short determined that one tweeter has about 50% (maybe even less)of the output of the other. DC resistance of both voice coils is 6.1 ohm.
Questions: Is this a treatable malady? If no, can anyone recommend a replacement tweeter available form the likes of Partsexpress ot Madisound? If still no, any information to help in determining likely candidates such as crossover frequency points, tweeter efficiency, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
