help with playing music from PC through Beosound 3000

Hi there I'm new to this forum, but have a question.

I have been the owner of a besound 3000 for 5 years now, and i've been happy! Now however I'm tearing my hair out of my head as I'm trying to get my PC to play sound through the AUX port. I've bought the 5 pin socket adaptor which fits nicely in the slot. I have programmed my BEO4 so that it says A.AUX and it turns on the Beosound nicely when pushing the button... so theres only one thing missing...SOUND

There is no sound coming out of the speakers... except if I turn up the volume to max (72) then I can hear the music just slightly. So I'm sure theres a connection... but now I don't know what to do. Please help. (and yes I have also turned up the volume on my pc.)

    Hi,

    welcome to BeoWorld !

The adapter you mention, does it have 4 RCA plugs (2 in, 2 out) ?

If so, perhaps you've connected the line-out instead of line-in ?

The cable looks correct, but it may still not be the type you need. The DIN connector (5-pin) has both stereo inputs and outputs, but the 2 RCA's can only be connected to one or another of them. I suspect the cable you have is built to get signal from the DIN to the RCA's. You'll either have to swap it for the other type, or get an adapter with four RCA's; then you can use it in both directions.

    Hi,

if your BeoSound 3000 is the large clamper version, you could consider connecting a BeoPort…

It is a more expensive solution, but you will be able to control your pc with the Beo4 remote, and you will get access to a lot of Internet radio stations.

    Regards,

    Erik
