Also www.cpc.co.uk  - owned by farnell but stocks more domestic/consumer electronic parts/goods, similar to

www.maplin.co.uk. As an aside cpc is also quite good at white goods spare parts.

Generally speaking, you aren't learning much if your lips are moving.

    Great Idea Kevin!

Here are a couple of my regular suppliers:

Suppliers in the USA (export worldwide - very reasonable shipping costs)

    www.mouser.com

    www.digikey.com

The above 2 are massive suppliers, which means their stock has a high turnover and is always fresh from the factory - Nichicon, Panasonic, Wima, Xicon.

    www.percyaudio.com

Percy has all the top-name audio-grade capacitors - Blackgate, Elna Silmic, Nichicon Muse, Auricap, Dynamicap, Solen & Axon and others.

    Regards

    Menahem Yachad

Learn from the mistakes of others - you'll not live long enough to make them all yourself!

    Alternative solution to CD/tape adaptor.

The use of metaphors should be avoided like the plague. They're like a red rag to a bull to me.

    In New Zealand.

    http://www.jaycar.co.nz/

    http://www.surplustronics.co.nz

Surplustronics got a lot of old stock sitting around too and is cheap, once bought a capstan motor for my Akai reel to reel brand new for $5!
