    BS9000 problem

9000 (wall hung vertically) happily playing through an Avant in a link room. Suddenly stops playing. Go into other room and see 9000 has switched itself off with clamper still in position 2 - red light still on at position 2. Switch it back on and it lights up, says CD1 and immediately switches off again - still with clamper unmoved at position 2 red light still on at 2.

Tried the computer solution - switch everything off at the mains, unplug, wait a while, plug back in, switch on - still same problem as before.

Any suggestions if only to get clamper back to position 1?

    Regards

    John

    Could be.

Just pressed button to open door - opened about half way, red light flashed three times and door shut again by itself. Not looking good.

Have you tried cleaning the "hand sensors"? There are sensors that are supposed to shut down the clamper motion, in case a hand is detected, a child safety measure. Those sensors need to be cleaned if they've dusted up.

Had problem with sensors before as it is vertically hung so I am careful about keeping it clean. Just cleaned them again but nothing has changed.
