    Anybody want a turntable?

I have a Beogram R X 2 turntable; in perfect condition but without a cartridge or stylus.

I'm told that a cartridge can be hand-made but will cost about €580 so I'm not interested. I'll be glad to give the turntable to anyone who wants it - come and get it in Dublin, Ireland.

Alternately, if anyone knows where a cartridge can be sourced at a more resaonable price I'll be happy to hear from them.

    Thanks

    Gerry

I have the same turntable and love it (can switch it on without lifting the cover)

    You can order cartridges here:

    A Soundsmith SMMC4 is $149.95

The Soundsmith SMMC4 is a copy of Bang & Olufsens own MMC4 pickup.

Originally the Beogram RX 2 was shipped with a MMC5 Pickup (if I remember correct), which in fact is not as good as the MMC4.

     Welcome to Beoworld!

As Erik says you should consider the Soundsmith Cartridge, they are better than the originals and you would end up with a very nice setup.
