    Beomaster 8000, volume 'stepping'

    Hi,

I have a BM8000 which has a symptom of the volume 'stepping' in coarse amounts - it's as if the attenuator has lost resolution somehow. . .

     Is this a known issue?

    thanks,

    Adam

Check the volume wheel opto for dust accumulation etc. Check also the connectors to the front panel. Connectors have started to fail at a drastic rate in these wonderful machines, causing the strangest faults. The solders crack, sometimes even lifting and breaking the PCB tracks, and the header pins shed their coating. Check also the ones between the display and processor boards.
