    Broken Beo4

    Hello All

the lcd display on my beo4 has been broken today and i wonder if that can be replaced and if anyone knows the sort of amount it will cost to get repaired at the dealer or someone else who can do it.

    Thanks

    Re: Broken Beo4

If I remember correctly, about £25 and readily available from your dealer.
No idea how much they would charge to fot it, easy to do yourself.

No soldering required, the screen is held in place by double sided adhesive foam tape. It should also come with a new zebra rubber strip which you should avoid handling with bare fingers.

    Re: Broken Beo4

this topic has promted me with two other questions

    1) is it possible to take the insides of the beo4 out so io can clean the front esier as its a b**ch to do with cottom buds every now and then

    2) can the cinema beo4 still be bought and if so how much are they?

yes, but be careful when extracting and reinstalling the rubber keypad -potential tear.

also, the plate is very "soft" -very easily bent, and don't be too agressive w/ the cleaning.

it does work well though for getting any grime out close to the buttons.

    Re: Broken Beo4

I used to regularly buy broken/faulty Beo4s, Beolink 1000s and Beocom 6000s on eBay then fix 'em up and sell 'em back.
Need to get back into that this year methinks.

    Re: Broken Beo4

Just finished stipping down a cleaning 4 of my own, replaced a screen at the same time. It is quite therapuetic to be honestUnsure

Cinema versions are rarer than hens teeth. If you find one expect tp pay around £250 to £300 2nd hand, unless you find someone who is unsure of his B&O.
