Beomaster 5500 Master Control Panel Problem

    I have recently purchased a nearly complete B & O 5500 System from a Charity Shop.

    The System comprises:

    Beomaster 5500 - (Tuner/Amp)

    Beogram CD-50 - (Cd player)

Beocord 5500 - (Tape cassette Deck)

    Red Line 45/60 Speakers

    Beolink 1000 Remote Control

    Master Control Panel 5500

The only missing item is a Beogram 5500 - (Record Player) which is not a problem as I have an alternative.

Everything works perfectly with the single exception of the Master Control Panel which operates well except for any command involving the use of the Circular Control/Dial for adjusting volume, sound levels, balance, bass, treble etc.

To summarise the Circular Control appears to have no functionality (although the problem can be overcome by using the Beolink 1000 remote as a limited alternative).

I have tried `swopping` the small left/right pcb`s housed in the rear legs of the Control panel & both work fine in the same position

Any suggestions to resolving the above problem would be much appreciated

I would guess that the opto part is faulty - see here.
