    BL5 and a lp player?

I have a pair of BeoLab 5 and i was wondring if any of you have tryed to connect a non B&O record/ LP player directly to the BL5, not trough any B&O stereosystem.

How dit it sound, was it as good a sound as a cdplayer or is the BL5 not made for lp record

CD would outperform it. The BeoLab 5s have the advantage of being 'completely digital', and they sound best if the entire system is connected like this (with SPDIF connections etc...). Vinyl could sound very good and warm, but it's full of distortion and other 'artifacts' which the BeoLab 5s would bring right to the front of the sound as they're so massively detailed/transparent.

Debatable. The first thing is to realise that you will need a turntable and some form of amplifier as the output from the record player will be at a low and unequalised level. Once attached, it will, as Alex says, use the analogue input of the Beolab 5s. To determine which is better rather depends on you! Some people like the analogue sound of vinyl and some prefer digital. The BL5s will be very revealing of problems in either.
