    Issues programming Beo5

    Hi

I have a beo5 remote which I have programmed to control my stereo with the standard RC5 codes. A lot of the things work like they are supposed to however there are som issues. I am trying to get the wheel to control the volume but when I assign volume to it when I then use the wheel it continues to send either vol + or vol - until i press another button. Not quite what I had imagined. Any thoughts?

Further I want to send several commands at a time. When I add more than one command the following commands are not sent. Only the first one. Anyone??

Lastly I want to get the codes for my pioneer TV and other 3rd party products. How do I obtain these codes without the lintronic box and software?

    Any help is appreciated

A Very warm welcome to Beoworld.

First, I am assuming that you have already had a look at the Beo5 Information and Resource web pages HERE

I am assuming that your Beo5 is currently using firmware 1.34a, if so currently you will need to use soft volume buttons on the screen when using RC5 protocol.

I did not really understand your statement which said

Further I want to send several commands at a time. When I add more than one command the following commands are not sent. Only the first one. Anyone??

Because you did not show any following commands, please supply the list of commands you have in your macro.

If 3rd party products are listed on remotecentral.com in Pronto HEX format, then these can be converted without the need of a Lintronic or similar converter.

    Regards Keith....

    Hi Keith

Thank you so much for your reply. How do I convert the codes from remotecentral to be used with Beo5 ? I don't quite see how.

What I meant by several commands at one time was that I want to create a macro that turns on both my pre-amp and cd player at the samt time. But when I add RC5 code 61 from the cd setup and code 12 from the pre amp setup only the first code is sent.

my firmware is 1.30a and software 1.30

Oh, and why can I not use the wheel for the RC5 codes? It would be very cool to be able to control the volume this way.

You will need the Beo5 3rd Party XML Generator which can be downloaded if you upgrade to Silver or Gold membership.

This program will actually create the required XML and comes with full help.

    Ok

Will this also help my issue with macros?

From what I can find both in the help file and on remotecentral it seems I need to somehow convert the ccf files to HEX to use your program? Is this easily done?

After the installation on two pieces of software, it is a matter of minutes. Very easy and well documented.

    Thank you

However I don't see how in the help file for the xml generator? I'm trying to sort everything out before going ahead with the xml software.

Besides the xml generator what software do I need?

Can it be that it is not possible to reassign the keys under digits? I can't right click on them in the B&o software

In the help file, there is a link to the Lintronic software (on the intro page about half way down). The steps are explained in the help page called "Capturing Infra-Red Remote Codes". You can also see a screenshot of the Lintronic software in there.

Not sure what you are trying to achieve, but the digit key can not be changed. When you are creating a configuration, you have to first create zones, then you have to add products. After that you can edit/add buttons.

I would simply like to use the already coded digits in stead of having something that I can neither change or use. Do you understand?

    Re: Issues programming Beo5

To clarify my previous answer about being able to control the 3rd party product volume with the centre wheel, the simple answer is you CAN, however it is NOT possible to do it with the Beo5 Configuration Tool using RC5 protocol without getting the problems you have discribed. You need the new 1.40a firmware and currently the associated XML file needs to be setup manually.

I have set this one manually and it works fine and in future versions of the Beo5 3rd Party XML Generator you will have the option to set it up as well.

    Thank you

To upgrade my remote I have to go to my dealer right? And if I do will I have to get the new 2.2 version of the b&o software? If so I think I will not upgrade since I don't know how to get this piece of software.

What should be changed in the XML so it can be used with firmware 1.40a?

    Thanks

In the next few days we will be bring out a new version of the Beo5 3rd Party XML Generator which will correctly create XML files for both the previous version 1.34a and the new version of firmware 1.40a

I have noticed that my Beo5 will not turn off the backlight when the last command has been to use the wheel..... ? Anyone else with this problem?

Further, is the beo 2.2 software available anywhere and is there any improvements with the new software/firmware ?
