Beomaster 5, is what i want...

    Hello,

Can someone please redirect me to the info about the Beomaster 5?

    In my setup ( BV7 + BS3200 + Mac Mini + beoport ) the Beomaster 5 would fit perfectly.

The Beosound 5 would be nice, but I think our 2 kids would ruine it before the first software update comes out.

    Hi Stefan,

Yes. Suzanne is our new born doughter.

I didn't anounce it on the general forum, but had a short notification on the BLOG section.

Thanks for the redirection to the manuals.

Interesting reading, the Beomaster 5 manual.

    Now the questions come up.

Any idea how to integrate the Mac Mini in the system DIRECTLY to the BV7?

The Beomaster 5 is supposed to be connected by DVI, like the Mac Mini is now connected to the TV.

The Beomaster 5 wakes up on command PC, like the Mac Mini in our current setup.

I watch on a regular basis movies stored on the Mac Mini and made visible on the BV7 screen. I press (BEO4) LINK, PC and navigate with Remote Buddy on the iPod Touch.

    He, a new baby! Congratulations!!

Maybe you will need the wall bracket for the BS5. You could install it two metres high at the wall, so no baby will touch it.

Ok, you will need a ladder to control it.....

To connect the mac and a Beomaster to your BV7 (-32?) you can try to use the component input for the mac (I think there is a DVI - comp. converter made by apple and the BM5 connected to the DVI input. BM5 will be controlled via masterlink (I think - this is how my BM1 is controlled).

I have connected my BM1 to the VGA socket of my BV7-40 MKIII. My Mac mini is connected to HDMI input in DVD2 mode and controlled via PUC (Apple remote). To get analog signals for link rooms I use a Gefen HDMI - composite converter for video and a Philips surround headphone amp as a digital - analog converter for audio.  Works great.
