Re: future of beovision 7-32 ?

Hi guys, sorry P-IN-P does work on the BV7_32 but what i meant was since there was no multiple HDMIs, then you could only P-in-P into the most used functions:

    DVD + DTV

    DTV + DVI

    DVD + DVI

My self, I also what to PINP from:

    STB + DVD

    STB + PS3

    PS3 + DTV

    STB + DTV

This allows me, to watch 2 TV channels at the same time, i.e. listen to the music from a video clip but actually watch a movie that ive seen before, or listen to music on the PS3 on one side, while im watching TV on the other to, waiting for a film to start...

I would also like to have more DVI/HDMI sockets on my BV7-32, however HD sources are not as crutial on a 32 screen. There is a HDMI expander available as well.

As to the question whether there will be a MK4, well, there surely will be, we do not need rumours for this. It is true the current BV7-32 lack behind in term of specs, and B&O has to come up with an updated model. The presence of a DVD-HD tuner is soon to be compulsory in France for example.

Apparently I was told in order to upgrade the DVB-S/T card I have on the BV7-40 to a DVB-T HD, I would loose the Sat tuner... not really worth it.

Im gonna wait until the PS3 has an HD Tuner on it i think...

okay i have some new insights.

my dealer contacted b&o and was told that release of a beovision 7-32 mk iv is imminent (well in the near future ) .

yet modifications only seem to be related to the screen and not to any connections. latter will be confirmed a.s.a.p.

They are just placing a better chassis and changing LCD supplier to Sharp as per BV8.

so still not the right way to go when you want to connect a playstation 3

that said will i have a big quality difference when a playstation 3 is connected with component av to a 7-32 or a connected full hdmi to the bigger 7-40 ?

The 7-40 will be quite a step up. It's an entirely different TV on the inside. The upgrades to the 7-32 will bring it very near the connectability and performance of the 7-40 mk3.

could you be more precise as it was perviously written that for the 7-32 mk IV only the screen is updated

Re: future of beovision 7-32 ?

Does everyone hate the BV7 -32? If the price isn't considered, i'm really fond of this product, the proportions are beautiful and it looks amazing in a colour such as red.

If i had more dollars than sense i'd get one for the bedroom as an all-in-one link slave.. but i don't have more dollars than sense!

Maybe this is why i get along with and love B&o products so much = i have no quibbles with the lack of up to date things like HDMI plugs.. the last thing i'd want to do with a beautiful TV like this (which already has DVB, DVD and masterlink-ablility) would be to connect an extra peripheral . Also i don't play game machines. I have much better things to do with myself while i'm still young! LOL

I agree Dave. I used to own a BV7-32 MKI and, when the BV7-40 MKIII arrived, it seemed huge. Too big. Used to it now, but the size of the BV7-32 did seem to suit the design.

I borrowed a BV7-32 MKII for a while and wasn't disappointed by the picture quality. Sure the BV7-40 is better, but some SD-based TV programmes (think non-HD football) are better on the BV7-32.

If multiple HDMI sockets aren't essential, a cheap 2007 model BV7-32 would be a good purchase. If you only intend to connect, say, a Sky box and perhaps games console, it's absolutely idea. Lifestyle are selling a 2006 model for only £3500, including 7.1 speaker! You could probably pick up a 2007 model, mint, for around £4000 if you pushed hard.

For HD pictures, for sure. For SD-based football and other fast moving SD content, it could be a step down!! As I say above, a new BV7-32 will show BBC1 Match of the Day content or Sky Football First better than my BV7-40 MKIII.

The BV7-40 MKIII comes in to it's own when using the Playstation 3 or, better, a recent Blu-ray. Dark Knight is stunning on the TV.

this morning i went to the dealer's with our playstation 3 and ps3 component av cable. once the ps 3 was connected we got a beautiful 1060i screen resolution which fits our needs.

i have ordered the 7-32 with silver cabinet and black 7-1 speaker. the 7.1 additionally will get the same black cloth lining as our beolab 5's

Exactly. You could connect an external (ie. Sky) box via DVI and the PS3 via component.

It's a shame B&O are spending more time working on making their TVs white, when the number 1 priority ought to be to add HDMI to their best-selling TV! To me, this sounds like B&O think their customers are dimwits and they are more interested in the appearance of their TV and speakers, than the performance. Wrong.

In all fairness, B&O will have different people working on the body colour and the chassis design! Changing the colour of the body is a very small job in relation to completely re-designing and manufacturing the chassis.

Is it very difficult to integrate HDMI sockets in a chassis that already supports DVI ?

I was under the impression that HDMI (more or less) = DVI + audio, or are there more important differences ?
