First posting on here so please go easy on me - fairly new to B&O products.

I am desiging a new (non-B&O) multi-room music system for a client with centralised amplification and loudpseaker cabling running to all zones.

As the client has a 3500 stored in a cupboard he has asked if it could be re-used for one of the zones.

I think I already know the asnwer to this, but just wanted to check to see if there is any way that a 3500 could be used as just passive loudspeakers fed from an amplified loudspeaker level feed.

(sorry I had made an answer but thought it was the 4500...) I do not think the 3500 can be used as a passive speaker.

It's possible but it wouldn't sound very good! The 3500 relies on an EQ curve to produce a good response. You could wire it up if you wanted, but he would probably be better off selling the 3500 and buying a good set of passive speakers instead.

Just out of interest, why the whole 'centralised amplifiers' idea?
