    Avant + BeoPort + CX50

Hi, im new in the world of B&O, and recently received a pair of beovox CX 50 with a MCL-2A(right?) and an eye, from my parents since they don't use them any more.

I have in the mean time fallen in love with the Avant 32" VHS and im thinking about connecting it to a BeoPort.

The question is then whether it would be possible to place my CX 50 in the kitchen and connect them through the Avant so i can listen to N.Radio from the beoplayer on my PC?

     Thanks.

    Jesper (:

    Re: Avant + BeoPort + CX50

You will need a ML/MCL to drive the CXs. But I don't know if it is possible to have the BeoPort as Audiomaster with an Avant.

    Come on guys... Smile

I know we had a tread about using the BeoPort as audiomaster, but I cannot find it, and I cannot remember if it was possible with an Avant.

Jesper is a friend of mine, and I know he would appreciate the help... Smile

    Re: Avant + BeoPort + CX50

I am fairly sure that the Avant cannot play NRADIO or NMUSIC, however you can watch TV, SAT, DVD,VCR on your PC via Beoport.
This is the conclusion that the PCG gives with just an Avant 32 VCR and a Beoport with TV card.
Wish I could be more helpful,
    Andy T.
    ************************* VIDEO SYSTEM SETUP **************************

    BeoVision Avant 32" 100 Hz MKIII (842x) SW 3.x

    Connection Video

Connect the aerial to the aerial input of the TV-set.

    Selecting option on the TV-set

Option: OPTION 1 (Factory setting), with Beo4

                    Press:                          | Display:
                   --------------------------------------------
STANDBY + LIST at the same time | OPTION?
                    GO                              | V.OPT
                    1                               | Observe confirmation
                                                    | from BeoVision

    Note!

If the TV is equipped with a Dolby Surround Module, the TV's default
SPEAKER mode will be 3. This has the effect that the speakers of the Avant
    will not play stereo.
To avert this, the TV Front Speaker Setup must be set to 'None'.
This is effected via the menus Setup -> Sound -> Speaker.
However, this is not possible on Avant 50Hz with S/W lower than 2.0

In case of interference between the modulator frequency and other
signals in the UHF region, adjust the modulator frequency
    from the TV menu. Procedure:
Setup / Tuning / Link Frequency
When you have found the desired frequency, press (GO/PLAY) to save it.
The recommended distance between stations in the UHF region is 16 Mhz.

    Re: Avant + BeoPort + CX50

But if he disconnect the Avant, I think it would be possible to choose N.MUSIC in the kitchen via a ML/MCL converter.

Will he loose this possibility, if the Avant is connected?

    Re: Avant + BeoPort + CX50

Yeah, that might be the solution. I have a BeoPort he can borrow, if/when he buys an Avant.

Thanks for giving it a thought. Smile

Hi guys, yes, you can use your BeoPort as an audio master and connect it to your Avant, that's what I was doing until I bought a BV3 (and connected it the same way).

Your Avant should be in V OPTION 2, and your BeoPort in option 0 or 2.

You should have no audio master connected to the system.

    Enjoy!

    Reunion Island is greeting you!

    Chris,

I am attemtping this right now for testing purposes over in the LinkPlayer thread.

This is just for testing and ultimately will be transplanted to a BS1 (which is basically identical to the US Avant).

Using just my Mac, a BeoPort, and an Avant... I have: G5 -> BP -ML-> Avant

I can control LinkPlayer, but I am not getting any sound on the Avant.

Is there any insight you might be able to offer?

    Thanks!

    Re: Avant + BeoPort + CX50

So you connected the Beogram 7000 with a 1611 converter to the beport and listen to LPs with speakers connected to the beoport?
